Edwina Paulk Walker, 91, of Ty Ty died Friday, June 6, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty Cemetery. Rev. Jim Duggan and Rev. Chad Hall will officiate with burial to follow. Dr. Mitch Cook, Jason Cook, Reggie Cook, Joe Walker, Chad Walker, Ches Chambless, Grant Barry and Heath Barry will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 9, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty.
Mrs. Walker was born on November 6, 1922 in Berrien County and was the daughter of Walton A. Paulk and Lena Cravey Paulk, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John W. Walker, who died in 2003; five brothers; two sisters; and a grandson, Frank Baker. She was retired from J. P. Stevens and had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty longer than any other member.
Mrs. Walker is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Jimmy C. Cook of Ty Ty and Kathy and Jerry Baker of Tifton; three sons and daughters-in-law, George and Patricia M. Walker of Ty Ty, Larry and Sharon S. Walker of Ty Ty and Gary and Rhonda H. Walker of Ty Ty; fourteen grandchildren and their spouses, Stephanie and Robert Clements, Dr. Mitch Cook, Jason and Geni Cook, Reginald and Susan Cook, Amy Walker Tinsley, Joe H. and Liz Walker, Chad Walker, Nikki Walker Weaver, Stauna and Ches Chambless, Heath and Allyson Barry, Grant and Morgan Barry, Kara Baker Bentley, Jamie Harris and Mick Helms; and 17 great-grandchildren and their spouses, Jade and Chris Kowalezyk, Jacob Clements, Sidney Cook, Courtney Cook, Joshua Cook, Avery Weaver, Lacoln Walker, Elizabeth Baker, Madison Tinsley, Landon Tinsley, Blake Chambless, Walker Barry, Kate Barry, Addison Barry, Anna Beth Barry, Maggie Barry and Clair Barry.
