Sarah J. "Sally" Redmond RN, a 60 year resident of Melrose, entered into eternal life unexpectedly on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 85 years old.
Sally was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada on April 4, 1929, a daughter of the late John Redmond and Kathleen (Murphy) Redmond. She grew up in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia where she was educated and graduated high school there. Sally received her Nursing Degree from St. Joseph's Hospital in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Sally worked as a Registered Nurse in several departments at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose for over 50 years where she dedicated herself to caring for those who were ill.
Sally is the beloved daughter of the late John Redmond and Kathleen (Murphy) Redmond. She is the devoted sister of Ruth Pezzariello and her late husband Danny of Bedford, Nova Scotia, Audrey O'Neill and her husband Sonny of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and Ann Stuart of Hyannis. She is the loving aunt to Dan O'Neill of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Bernie and Dolly Redmond of Taunton and several other nieces and nephews.
Sally's Funeral Services and burial will be private.
