Obituary

BEVERLY: Levio "Leo" DeSantis, 88, retired City of Beverly employee, died on February 15, 2014, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL with his daughter by his side. He was the husband of Barbara (Dagley) DeSantis.
He was born in Boston on August 23, 1925, and was the son of the late Attilio and Emma (Dinardo) DeSantis. He resided in Beverly for many years before moving to Vero Beach in 1988. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a charter member and past Commander of the Vittori-Rocci Post #56 of Beverly.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Leann Moody and her husband, John, of Beverly; a son, Edward DeSantis and his wife, Rochelle, of Valencia, Calif.; six grandchildren, Joshua Moody, Jessica Moody, Katelyn Moody, Brian Poitras, Matthew Poitras, and Alexandra Agonias; two brothers, Fred DeSantis and his wife, Peggy, Joe DeSantis and his wife, Nancy; and a sister, Sylvia Halloran and her husband, Bud; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Doreen DeSantis; and his former wife, Joanne (Hubbard) DeSantis.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23rd in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Brimbal Ave., Beverly at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Veteran’s Aid Fund, c/o Vittori-Rocci Post #56, 143 Brimbal Ave., Beverly, MA 01915.
