Obituary

Mr. Edward M. Lombardi, Sr., of Taunton, died Wednesday, June 4 in the Golden Living Center – Wedgemere, following a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Elinor (McLean) Lombardi. He was born 83 years ago in Providence, R.I., the son of the late James and Adele (Motta) Lombardi. He was educated in Rhode Island and had been a Taunton resident for the past 57 years. Prior to his retirement, Edward had been employed as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Rhode Island for over 30 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War era.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 3 sons: Edward M. Lombardi, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne of Taunton, Randy P. Lombardi and Gary J. Lombardi, both of East Taunton; 2 brothers: James Lombardi Jr. and Robert Lombardi, both of Rhode Island. 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, June 9 at 8:00 P.M. Visiting hours will be held prior to the Service, Monday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
