Obituary

Patrick J. Ross, 68, of Franklin died suddenly May 31 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Carol (Tanzi) Ross.
Born in Boston, May 30, 1946, the son of the late William and Mary (Haley) Ross, Mr. Ross was raised in Mission Hill and had lived in Roslindale for many years prior to moving to Franklin 20 years ago.
Mr. Ross received an associate’s degree from Newbury Junior College.
Mr. Ross had been court officer for many years.
He began at Suffolk Superior Court in Boston, where he worked for over 20 years and later worked at Dedham District Court and finally at Wrentham District Court where he worked until his retirement.
Mr. Ross served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed coin collecting, photography, golfing and doing genealogy research on his family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Melissa Ross of Franklin and Valerie DeSantis and her husband Joe of Brookline, New Hampshire.
He is also survived by his siblings, William Ross of Virginia and Geraldine Brunt of Maryland.
He was the brother of the late John and Edward Ross, Mary Ellen McLean and Anne Waite.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Harold Coyne and Rosalie Ross DeSantis.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, June 5 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street in Franklin at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8.
