Grace M. (Unge) Fisher, 95, passed away Sun. June 1, 2014 in Oakdale Rehab Center. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law Lynne and John Buckley; 2 grandsons- Phillip and Brian Buckley; and a brother-in-law Norman Ekholm of Worcester. She was pre-deceased by her husband Roland A. Fisher in 1979.
Grace was born in Auburn, daughter of the late Robert and Gerda (Hjelm) Unge. She graduated from North High School, where she was a Horace Mann Scholar and wrote her class song, "Days of Sunshine". She worked as a clerk for several banks and Sawyer Oil and Lumber Co. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church & the Stella Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed line dancing, knitting, playing bingo, and the Red Sox. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of The Oakdale Rehab Center for the love and care they provided Grace.
A memorial service will be held on Tues. June 3 at 10:30 am in Zion Lutheran Church 41 Whitmarsh Ave. Worcester. Burial will be private at a later date.
