Mr. Elzie “Bill” Wynn, age 91, died, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Irwin County Hospital in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Ocilla, with the Rev. Huey Nichols and the Rev. Hicks Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Ocilla Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 12:30 until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Wynn was born May 14, 1923 in Ben Hill County to the late Ross and Vadie Hutchinson Wynn. He was a retired farmer and long-haul truck driver. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Wynn was an active member and deacon of Pine Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years: Mary Frances “Frankie” Dix Wynn of Ocilla; a daughter and son-in-law: Linda W. and Bill Moyer of Tifton; a son and daughter-in-law: Robert & Miriam Wynn of Rebecca; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive including his fishing and hunting buddy: Haynes & Judy Wynn of Fitzgerald as well as: Deanie & H.L. Cleghorn of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Wynn; two brothers: Robert Lee & Dora Wynn and Sonny & Jimmie Wynn and two sisters: Ruby & R.V. Tucker and an infant sister.
