Vincent Taurean Femenella, 23, of Fairhaven, died May 25, 2014 after a long illness. He died in Heartwellville, VT while in the woods near the family home in Vermont.
Born in Bennington, VT, the son of Kim Marie DiPasquali of Fairhaven and Brian Healey of Fall River and the adopted son of Edward Femenella of Conyers, GA, he lived in Heartwellville, VT before moving to New Bedford.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 2008 and was a member of the swim team.
Vinnie enjoyed skiing, snow boarding, hiking, squirrel hunting, camping in the woods, fishing, surfing, building wooden airplane models and researching. He is most famous for riding his vintage moped from Fairhaven to Vermont last spring.
He was well read and had a great mind. Vinnie was a young person with much older thinking and was very philosophical about life. He would sit for hours and speak with others about the meaning of the world in which we live. Vinnie's analytical and intellectual wisdom will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Survivors include his parents; 3 brothers, Rorey Femenella of Fairhaven, Brian Femenella of Toms River, NJ and Brian Healey, Jr. of Florida; a sister, Jennifer (Femenella) Manning of New Jersey; his maternal grandmother, Helen (Martin) DiPasquali Gajewski of New Bedford; his paternal grandmother, Marie (Medeiros) Healey of Somerset; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends in Vermont and in the New Bedford area.
He was the grandson of the late Bernard DiPasquali, Edward Gajewski, James Healey, Mildred (Camera) Femenella and John Femenella.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 3rd at 11 AM in St. Lawrence Church, 565 County St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday, June 2nd from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
