Obituary

James F. Ansell Sr, 76 of Parsonsfield, ME died unexpectedly May 26, 2014. He was born in Boston and raised in Jamaica Plain and was the son of the late William and Gertrude (Leighton) Ansell. For many years Jim raised his family and lived in Brockton before moving to ME. He was a graduate of Boston State College and he received a master degree in education from Bridgewater State College. He was a longtime special education teacher in the Brockton school system as well as the Middleboro school system. He taught driver’s education for many years.

One of Jim’s passions in life was aviation; teaching it to his students as well as owning and flying his own planes. He enjoyed wintering in Bonita Springs, FL.

Jim is survived by his sons, James F. Ansell Jr and his wife Kristine of Wareham and Scott M. Ansell and his wife Amy of Woburn, his siblings, Roberta Consalvi of Porter, ME, Richard Ansell of Standish, ME and his companion Maureen Salvage, William “Fred” Ansell of Dover, NH and his wife Peggy, and Barbara Warner of Stoneham, MA and her husband Don; his five grandchildren, Corian, Olivia, Danielle, Emily,and Matthew, and many nieces and nephews; his companion Jean Bartolomeo of Amesbury and his former wife Mary (Waters) Ansell of Brockton.

Following cremation visiting hours will be in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday, June 7, 2014, 12:00 – 3:00 pm with funeral service immediately following. Burial will be in the family lot in Gethsemene Cemetery, West Roxbury at a later date.
