New Bedford – “Soupy” William Ramos, age 72 of New Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the son of Mary (Ramos) Soares and Antone Duarte. Mr. Ramos was born in New Bedford, spent all of his time here and worked as a Superintendent for Claremont Management for many years.
In his leisure time, “Soupy” enjoy to play golf and carpentry.
His surviving family includes his 2 loving daughters: Kelly Pereira of New Bedford, and Kylein Costa from Pawtucket, RI; his beloved granddaughter, Nicole Pereira of New Bedford; 2 siblings: Josephine Cardoza and David Soares, both of New Bedford; 2 step-siblings: Antoinette Ramos and Marvin Ramos, both of New Bedford; 2 nephews: Wayne and Tony, 2 nieces: Kim and Kyra; step-father, the late Joseph ”Cokey” Soares; the longtime companion of Mary Montinelli; as well as other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday, June 2 from 4 – 8 P.M. with a Religious Service to be conducted during that time. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Cremation will follow. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
