Obituary

Joseph William Eugene, of Plymouth, died on Monday May 26th at home at the age of 93. He is survived by his daughters Patricia M. MacAuley of Somerville, JoAnne Lowe of Brockton and Michele Eugene of East Falmouth. He also leaves his brother Francis G. Eugene of Seattle WA, his loving friend Donna Dabkowski of Manomet, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Catherine L. Callahan and brother of the late Margaret R. Shaughnessy, Catherine R. Flynn, Leo J. Eugene and Donald Eugene.
Joseph was born in Boston and worked for the MBTA for many years along with the post office. He served in the US Army, the US Air Force, along with being a reservist in the National Guard. He served in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. Joseph was a member of the Boston Carmen's Union Local 589, Cambridge Lodge BPO Elks 839, American Legion Plymouth Post 40, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1822 and Disabled American Veterans. He was also a long-time Friend of Bills.
Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) Ma on Sunday June 1st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Bonaventure's Church, State Rd, Manomet on Tuesday June 3rd at 11 am followed by a burial at the National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations in his memory be made to The Norwell VNA and Hospice.
