Jeannette A. Richer 79, of Thibeault Ave., died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of Gerald Richer for fifty two years. Born in Blackstone, MA, she was a daughter of the late Aldor and Cecile (Girard) Fontenault. Jeannette was a nurse’s aide for Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center for eighteen years before retiring in 1996.
Jeannette’s greatest joy was taking care of her family. Besides her husband she leaves four sons, William Richer and his wife Kathleen of Whitinsville, MA. Christopher and his girlfriend Patricia Studley and Paul and his wife Jacqueline all of Woonsocket, and Peter and his wife Susan of Harwich, MA, two brothers Raymond Fontenault of Nasonville, and Aldor Fontenault of East Hampton, CT, two sisters Gertrude Brissette of North Smithfield and Frances Fullam of Nasonville, and seven grandchildren, Brittany and Cameron Richer of Providence, Meghan and Ryan Richer of Harwich, and Julie, Timothy and Bradley Richer all of Whitinsville. She was also the sister of the late Roger and Marcel Fontenault and Pauline Lapierre.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM in St. Agatha’s Church, Joffre Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery in Manville. In lieu of flowers donations to Catholic Charity Fund Appeal Endowment, Catholic Foundation, 1 Cathedral Square, Providence, RI 02903 in her memory would be appreciated.
