Samuel Nathan Banks “Sam” Hancock, 89, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Baptist East Hospital. Born in Cane Valley, Kentucky, he was a chemical operator for American Synthetic Rubber Corp. with over 30 years of service and an Army veteran of WWII. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Earline; sisters, Doris Hubbard, Judy Sewell and Rachel Breeding. He is survived by his daughters, Susie Hancock, Diane Hancock, and son Nathan Hancock (Nancy); two sisters, Sarah Branhan, Rosemary Gillespie; numerous nieces and nephews. His funeral will be 1:00 pm Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, with burial at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation 10:00 am until service time Thursday.
