Cecelia V. Olivier, 88, of Manchester, died May 27, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Nursing home after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester on August 21, 1925, she was the daughter of Martin and Mary (Somers) Van Walle. She was educated in the local school system and graduated from West High School.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed at the VA Medical Center in Manchester for many years. Previously, she had worked at the Amoskeag Bank.
Cecelia loved traveling with her husband and together they spent many winters in Stuart, FL. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, hosting Holiday gatherings and attending her grandchildren’s numerous events. Above all else, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to supporting her family.
She was predeceased by her husband Maurice W. Olivier in 2004.
Family members include her children, David A. Olivier and wife Dorothy, Donna O. Allen and husband Donald, Debra A. Wilkins and husband Guy, and Jeanne C. Brisson, all of Manchester; her grandchildren, Stephen Lemay, Matthew Olivier, Cheryl Olivier, Michael Wilkins, Kathryn Lee, Stephanie Chamberland, Sarah Olivier, Andrew Brisson, and Lauren Brisson; great-grandchildren, Julian Lemay, Lucas Chamberland, and Nora Lee; a step-sister, Janet Gallagher of Manchester; nephews, nieces and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, June 2, 2014 at St. Raphael Church. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
