Obituary

Harold J. Hodkinson III, 47, of Swansea died unexpectedly, Friday, May 23, 2014 at home. Born in Fall River, son of Geraldine M. (Hopkins) Hodkinson of Swansea and the late Harold J. Hodkinson, Jr., he was a lifelong resident of Swansea. Harold graduated from Joseph Case High School and Johnson and Wales School of Culinary Arts.
He was a chef at various restaurants in the area most recently the Train in Newport R.I. and Patriots Place in Foxboro MA. Mr. Hodkinson a.k.a "Hal" loved restoring his mustangs and cooking and he was also a motorcycle enthusiast. He was the "chef" of the family and would always prepare his best dishes for family functions.
Including his mother, survivors include an older brother: Michael P. Hodkinson of Swansea; 3 older sisters: Debra A. Desmarais of Westport, Harriet J. Desrochers of Dartmouth and Robin M. Hodkinson of Fall River; a niece and 5 nephews; 2 great nieces and 3 great nephews; and many cousins.
Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Swansea at 10:00 A.M.
Burial to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Harold can be made out to and will be accepted by St. Francis of Assisi Parish to feed the hungry, 270 Ocean Grove Ave., Swansea, MA 02777.
