FALL RIVER… Januario “Jornata” Borges Oliveira, 65, of Fall River passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2014.
He was the husband of Lucia (Pacheco) Oliveira of Fall River.
Born in Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose and Almorinda (Borges) Oliveira and had been a 30 year resident of this city.
He worked as a machine operator in the textile industry and was a maintenance supervisor for McDonald’s before his retirement.
Mr. Oliveira enjoyed Ben Fica Soccer, Domino’s, cards, spending time with family and grandchildren.
Along with his wife, survivors include 3 daughters: Stephanie Oliveira, Elizabeth Oliveira Moniz, Kelly Oliveira all of Fall River, 3 brothers: Jose Luis Oliveira, Manuel Oliveira both St. Michael Azores, Angelo Oliveira of Canada, 3 sisters: Lucia Oliveira, Conceicao Oliveira both of St. Michael Azores, Filomena Costa of Fall River, 4 grandchildren: Ryan Plante, Shane Soares, Naomi Costa, Joshua Januario Moniz, several nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited to will be held Friday at 9:30 AM at the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Espirito Santo Church, 311 Alden St. Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 – 8 PM
