SPRINGFIELD – Jessie (Patnaude) Farrell, 101, of the East Springfield section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2014. She was born in Worcester on February 4, 1913, a beloved daughter of the late Lionel and Anna (Brennan) Patnaude. She was raised in Worcester and later lived in Holyoke and Belchertown before moving to Springfield around 1937. She previously worked at Mercy Hospital, the White Tower and the Central Coat and Linen Company, all in Springfield. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Patrick F. Farrell who was Called Home on January 1, 1976; her son, Francis P. “Butch” Farrell; her daughters, Phyllis Sherman and Patricia A. Camry; and her sisters, Louise Buzzard and Anna Patnaude. She leaves her loving daughter, Vera A. Scammon of Springfield; her eight cherished grandchildren; her 10 cherished great grandchildren; her six cherished great-great grandchildren; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her funeral will be Friday, May 30, 2014 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 7:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109.
