Louis E. Godby
March 21, 1928 to May 24, 2014

On May 24, 2014, Louis left his family and friends to join his Savior and beloved wife Audrey, in their eternal home.

Born in Oak Hill, West Virginia, he was the son of William T. and Glenna B. (McLain) Godby, both deceased. He was a graduate of Oak Hill High School, Cedarville University and the Certified Professional Manager's Institute of George Mason University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, as well as numerous Military and American Management Academy Schools.

Louis and Audrey (Sosebee) were married in Meridian, Mississippi on June 3, 1967.

He was survived by five children, Wayne (Kathy) Godby of Tacoma, WA; Kathleen Sapp of Elyria, OH; Paul (Jane) Godby of Elyria, OH; Tommy Dunnam of Anderson; Lezlie (Mike) Godby-Stires of Anderson; thirteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and beloved friend, Sylvia Taflinger of Muncie, IN

Louis served his country from 1945 to 1971 in the Navy (WW II) and Air Force (Korea and Vietnam) earning 13 medals; the highest being the Bronze Star and the Air Force Commendation Medals.

He was a member of Chesterfield Community Church of God, where he taught a Bible class and served on the Board of Elders.

Louise was ordained in 1965 as a minister in the Church of God and with his wife, pastored in the states of Virginia and Ohio. He also served with missionaries in Alaska and Korea.

He worked for Warner Press form 1975 until 1990. He was a pastor, a teacher, a management and organizational consultant in industry and continued to work as a mentor and counselor until the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Audrey (Sosebee) Godby and son, Jimmy Crouse.

A memorial service will be conducted 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Michael Schwartz and Pastor Bob Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, May 30 from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
