Nichols, Winnie Ellen (Linehan), 85, passed away peacefully at her residence on May 25, 2014. Born in Springtown (Parker Co.) TX, she was the youngest daughter of George W. and Texas A. Linehan. After moving to Louisville and raising a family, she worked and retired from Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital dietary services after 17 years. She was a Baptist by faith and often led Sunday school classes at Parkwood Baptist Church, where she was a life-long member.
Winnie was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters.
She is survived by her children, Wayne Nichols, Debbie Nichols Dink (Joe), Ronny Nichols, and Doug Nichols (Diana); six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred and Bill Linehan; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Winnie will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Parkwood Baptist Church, 7009 Manslick Road, with cremation to follow. Visitation will be 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, and Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of service at her church.
