Paul Emile Lambert
Active in Veterans affairs and co-owned Lamby’s Pub
Paul E. Lambert 81, of East School St. died Wednesday May 21, 2014 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center with his family by his side. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Urgel and Emilina (Arel) Lambert. He was the husband for twenty nine years of Alice (Sawyer) Schram Lambert. Paul worked for the Whitins Machine Shop as a core maker for twenty four years. He was the weatherization co-ordinator for SPAC and TOCTA for nine years. He and his wife Alice owned and operated Lamby’s Pub in Woonsocket from 1986 -2004.
Paul was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was Commander and Stewart for Favreau, Bedford Amvets Post 12 for thirty years. He was “Sadder for Sad Sacks as well as “Money Bags” for several years, and was secretary for the State of RI Amvets. Paul was a life member of the Cercle Laurier Club, the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks and the IWC. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 85. Paul loved to go to the Amvets conventions at Galilee, Twin River and playing Keno. He also enjoyed walking at WWII Veteran’s Memorial Park. Paul will be remembered from Lamby’s with his dog Gizmo at his side.
Besides his wife he leaves a daughter June Rampenthal and her husband Kevin of Woonsocket, and grandchildren, Shane Harnois, Lauren, Eric, and Daniel Rampenthal, and four great- grandchildren, and Paul’s children, Timothy, Paul Phil, Keith, Theresa and Cindy and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, Louis and Richard Lambert both of Florida, and four sisters Priscilla Champagne, Muriel Payette, Pauline Bileau, and Suzanne Dumont all of Woonsocket. He was also the brother of the late Cecile Lariviere.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket, concluding with Military Honors. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-7 PM.
