Obituary

Neal H. Keegan, 56, a lifelong Salem, NH resident passed away peacefully on May 21st, 2014 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA with his loving family by his side. Neal was born in Methuen, MA on March, 26, 1958, to Donald and Patricia (Turner) Keegan.

Neal grew up in Salem, NH and graduated from Salem High School in 1977. After high school he joined the Army as a Combat Engineer. Neal worked as a mechanic for UPS until his retirement in 2013 after being diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer.

Neal had a special love of music. He spent many nights playing the guitar with special friends. He also loved golf, the New England Patriots, skiing, working in his yard and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Neal is survived by his wife of 26 years, Michelle (Charest) Keegan and their son Neal Patrick Keegan, 21, both of Salem, NH. He is also survived by his three sisters, Diane Keegan, Carolyn Keegan and Patricia Keegan, all of Salem, NH. As well as his in-laws Daniel I & Joan Charest of Hampstead, NH, brother in-law and sister in-law Daniel II and Renee Casey-Charest, and their children Daniel III, Olivia and Meredith, of Windham, NH.

Neal’s family would like to thank those at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for the wonderful care Neal was given the past 2 1/2 years. They would also like to thank the Salem High Class of 77’ for their love and support. A special “thank you” to all the friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers that have provided strength during this difficult time.

Calling hours are Tuesday, May 27th, from 5:00-8:00pm, at the Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St. Salem, NH. Memorial Service will be Wednesday, May 28th at 11:00am at Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave, Haverhill, MA 01832.
