Margret Hudson Adkison, 51, of Ben Hill County, Georgia, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Brent Duncan, the Rev. Rex Johnson, and the Rev. Harris Johnson officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Adkison was born October 3, 1962 in Hialeah, Florida to Geneva Tomberlin Morris of Ocilla and Harvey Lee Morris of Kingsland. She lived in the community all of her life and was a 1980 graduate of Irwin County High School. She received her legal secretary degree from ABAC. She was a receptionist for the Ben Hill County Sheriff’s department for six years and a former legal secretary for Emory Walters, Tommy Pittman, Tom Pujadas and Alan Swan. Mrs. Adkison also worked for Paul Bowden at the Tifton Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s office. She was also a former part time employee for Food Lion. She enjoyed sharing her time with family and friends and loved each one dearly. She enjoyed attending auctions and loved her animals. Mrs. Adkison was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Ben Hill County.
Along with her parents, she is survived by her husband: Lewis Adkison of Ben Hill County; a son and fiancé: Steven Ted Hudson & Lindsay Kelley of Ocilla; her daughter and fiancé: Stacie Hudson & Steven Lingefelt of Ocilla; three step-children: Rodney Adkison of Fitzgerald, Robin & Jeff Blease of Ocilla and Derick & Michelle Adkison of Fitzgerald; ten grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law: Jerris & Max Bassett of Middleburg, Florida and a brother and sister-in-law: James Anthony “Andy” & Debi Morris of St. Marys. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
