BEVERLY - Loretta A. (Young) Michalowski, 82, of Fremont, NH, formerly of Beverly, MA, wife of
Alfred Michalowski, died Tuesday morning, May 20, 2014 at the Clipper Harbor Rehabilitation and Skilled
Nursing Center in Portsmouth, NH, following a long illness.
Born in Plattsburgh, NY and raised in Willsboro, NY she was the daughter of the late John L. and Edith M.
(Martin) Young. She was a graduate of the Willsboro Central School.
Loretta moved to Massachusetts to take a job at the General Electric Company’s River Works facility, Lynn as a
secretary, where she was employed for 15 years.
She was a resident of Beverly for over 45 years where she was a communicant of the former St. Alphonsus Church and taught CCD classes. She was employed in the cafeteria in the Beverly school system while her children were attending the schools. She enjoyed knitting, crosswords and puzzles, and was an active participant with her family at the Danvers Fish and Game Club. She has been a resident of Fremont, New Hampshire since moving there in 2003.
Besides her husband, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage, she is survived by 3 daughters, Janet L.
Deleskey of Beverly, MA, Susan and her husband Thomas Shalkoski, Jr of Danvers, Karen and her husband
Craig Johnson of Hampton Falls, NH, three grandchildren, Jessica L. Deleskey Harmon, Matthew Shalkoski and
Christopher Shalkoski, one great grandchild, Elijah M. Westbrook and several nieces and nephews. She was the
sister of the late Elizabeth Yutronich.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at the St. John the Baptist Church, 28 St. Peter St., Salem. Visiting hours in the funeral home are Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 pm Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
