GLOUCESTER: Gary C. Thornton II, 43, went home to be with The Lord, Tuesday, May 20, 2014.
He was the owner of a successful local business, G.C.Thornton Co. He was dedicated to his family, especially his children Jacob and Macy, and was a kind and loving father and friend to all who knew him. Gary would always go the extra mile to help out those in need, and was so appreciative to those who were there for him when he was in need of help. He enjoyed going out to sea on his boat, doing some of the many things he loved, including fishing and lobstering, and spending time with his family and friends at the beach. Gary also enjoyed riding his Harley and being with his loyal friend, Knuckles, his dog.
In addition to his children, Jacob and Macy, he leaves behind his special love, Tamar Payton; his mother, Elaine, and step-father, Jim Ketchopulos; his father, Gary C. Thornton; his sister, Maria Dufour, and her partner, Mary F. Lyons, including his nephews, Anthony, Gabe and Luca and his nieces Dana, Eden; his sister Michelle Angers and his niece Emily; his beloved grandfather, Charles "Chuck" Thornton; his step brothers, Chris and Derek Ketchopulos; His dedicated friends; The mother of his children, Jennifer Thornton; his mother and father in-law, Ron and Beverly Horvitz;
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday in the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church, Pleasant St., Gloucester at 12 noon. Visiting hours will be held on Friday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
