Obituary

DUDLEY– Bernard L. Nieszczezewski, 70, of 88 Charlton Road, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 9, at home.

He leaves his wife of 46 years, Evelyn V. (Kozlowski) Nieszczezewski; two daughters, Catherine and her husband John P. Preissler of Dudley, and Joan and Robert Gerhard of Halifax, MA; a son, Robert and his wife Jessica Nieszczezewski of Heborn, CT; a sister, Sally Wojtalik of Sturbridge; 10 grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.

He was born and raised in Webster, son of the late Leon and Tessie (Bonczek) Nieszczezewski, and moved to Dudley in 1968. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1951, where he was the captain of the varsity basketball team and a player on the varsity baseball team.

He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952 to 1956.

Mr. Nieszczezewski worked at Pratt Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford for 36 years, retiring as foreman in quality control. He then worked at the buildings and grounds at Nichols College for over ten years.

He was a member of Saint Andrew Bobola Church. He was active on the bingo and festival committees as well as a collector. He was an avid New England Patriots fan, and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and woodworking.

The funeral will be held Friday, Nov. 12, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Thursday, Nov.11, at the funeral home.
