ONSET (formerly of Easton and Taunton) - Isabelle M. (Barretto) White, wife of the late Richard H. White, died on May 16, 2014, after a brief illness.
She was 83.
Born in Easton, she was the eldest daughter of the late Severiano D. and Caroline M. (Fernandes) Barretto.
After graduating from Oliver Ames High School in Easton, Isabelle worked at Harco Orchards in Easton for several years and then went to work at the National Bank of Plymouth County in Brockton, retiring from there in 1989, which at the time of her retirement was called Shawmut Bank.
A communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham, Isabelle looked forward to her mini vacations at the Connecticut casinos.
Survivors include three sisters, Dorothy C. White of Taunton, C. Paula Barretto of Stoughton and JoAnn M. Savary of E. Wareham; two brothers, James A. Barretto and his wife Miriam E. of Colorado Springs, CO and Lawrence S. Barretto of Tamarac, FL; an aunt; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren.
She was also the sister of the late Louis F. Barretto.
Funeral services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, on Thursday, May 22nd at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 21st from 5 to 8 p.m.
Isabelle requested that there be no flowers.
