Thelma L. Franey, 93

Thelma L. (Sankey) Franey, age 93, a lifelong resident of Mansfield passed away surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness, on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
She was the beloved wife of the late Myles C. Franey to whom she was wed for nearly fifty years at the time of his death on September 25, 1989.
Born in Somerset, MA on July 2, 1920, she was a loving daughter of the late Joseph and Lumina Mae (King) Sankey. She grew up in Mansfield and was a 1938 graduate of Mansfield High School.
A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Franey enjoyed crocheting and throughout her life was an avid walker. In addition to her many wonderful qualities, Thelma will always be remembered for her remarkable sense of humor.
She is survived by her devoted children; Sandra L. Franey of Mansfield, Robin M. Forget and her husband Gary of Mansfield, and Rodney A. Franey and his wife Kathy of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of the late Mildred Dupree, Albert Sankey, and Joseph Sankey. Mrs. Franey is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Jason Forget and his wife Virginie of California, Jarod Forget and his wife Maribel of Florida, Russell Holske and his wife Rose of Virginia, James Holske of Boston, Alan Franey of Taunton and Allison Franey of Mansfield, her great grandchildren; Laurine and Julie Forget of California, Evan and Caleb Forget of Florida, and Grace, Alex and Jack Holske all of Virginia, and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of her family. Burial will also be held privately at the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing, may remember Thelma with a donation made in her memory to the charity of ones choice.
