Obituary

Charles F.L. Richard, 89, formerly of Cumberland, died Friday May 9, 2014 at St. Antoine Residence. He was the husband of the late Delia R. (Fournier) Richard.
Born in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Alfred and Mathilde (Hebert) Richard. He was raised in Woonsocket and resided in Cumberland for over 50 years until moving to St. Antoine Residence.
Mr. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII.
Charlie was employed as a banker for the former Industrial Trust Company in Woonsocket for over 40 years before retiring in 1988. He was an active parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Ashton serving as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered much of his time in the care and maintenance of the parish facilities. Charlie also enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. He was the brother of the late Aime, Adrien and Raymond Richard, Alice St. Onge, Cecile Brunelle, Irene Richard, Yvonne Proulx and Madeleine Lemieux.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Antoine Chapel, 10 Rhodes Ave. North Smithfield. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket. Visiting hours are omitted.
Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
