Gordon, Martin J. Jr., of Marshfield, formerly of South Boston, passed away on May 15 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Mary (Schofield) Gordon. Loving father of Anne-Marie Budden and son-in-law Neil of Hanson, Noreen D’Andrea and her husband Mark of West Bridgewater, Martin J. Gordon III and his fiancé Marnie Tallon of Kingston and Amy Gordon and her partner Paula Collins of East Bridgewater. Loving grandfather of Neil Jr., Andrew, Eric, and Mary Kate Budden; Luke and Brooke D’Andrea; and Taylor and Jacob Gordon. Dear brother of Charlene Walsh of FL, Jacqueline Rattigan of NH and the late Joseph Gordon. Son of the late Martin J. and Madeline (DeMaio) Gordon McDonald. Gordy, as he was known to friends and family, had a lifelong love of all animals, especially of horses and dogs.
When his children were growing up, he was actively involved in sports as a coach, referee, and umpire. He loved to travel and explore the world with his wife and best friend Mary. Gordy was well known for his outstanding cooking abilities and acerbic wit. He was quietly devoted to his family, friends, and faith.
Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Monday, May 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, May 20 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann by the Sea Church, 591 Ocean St. at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held in Couch Cemetery.
