Joseph R. Dupont, 70, of New Bedford died Thursday May 15, 2014.
Born in New Bedford, he was the beloved son of Eva (DeMello) Dupont and the late Romeo W. Dupont.
Mr. Dupont served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Cuban Missle Crisis and the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed taking day trips with his family and playing at Twin Rivers and Foxwoods. He especially loved time spent with his family. He was a kind and sweet soul who was dearly loved by all and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his mother; a sister, Carol Morrison and her husband Robert of New Bedford; a brother, Ronald Dupont and his wife Barbara of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late William Dupont.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
