Obituary

Rockland – Sharon Hambarian 58 died Thursday May 15 in Brigham & Women’s Hospital after a brave battle with cancer.

Born in Boston and raised in Quincy she was the beloved daughter of Leona (Dresselaers) Hambarian of Rockland and the late John Hambarian.

Sharon was a long time resident of Abington and a graduate of Abington High School before her move to Rockland thirteen years ago.

She had worked several years for Rockland Trust before becoming a Claims Processor at NHIC for the past twenty-three years. She was also a familiar face waitressing many years at Ted’s Place in Whitman.

She enjoyed her Zumba classes and loved to travel, returning many times to her favorite spot the island of “Saint Martin”.

Sharon made friends where ever she was, and will be remember by those who loved her for her strong will and “no nonsense approach” to life. She loved music and truly enjoyed the joy of dancing and celebrating with friends.

In addition to her mother Leona she is survived by her sisters Joyce Oliveira and her husband Ed of Abington, MaryLou Barnes of Wareham and Johnna Lewis and her late husband Edward of Rockland. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Kristianne, Nicholas and Marissa Oliveira, Deirdre and David Lewis and Kurt and Michelle Barnes.

Her funeral service will be held Monday May 19 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9 AM in St. Bridget Church, Abington. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland. Visiting hours will be held Sunday May 18 from 2-6 PM.
