Obituary

Larry Taylor of Oxford, MS died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born August 6, 1952 in Oxford, MS to June Edwards Taylor and the late Colvin Adrion Taylor. Larry served eleven years in the United States Army, with five terms in Korea, as a materials storage and handling specialist. He earned the U.S. Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 3), National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (w/Bronze 3 loops) and Rifle Marksman Badge. Larry was a Baptist, enjoyed listening to music, watching old movies, going to the beach, gardening and taking care of his dogs.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12:00 noon on May 20, 2014 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Glidewell officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Flat Cemetery in Lafayette County, MS with Anthony Taylor, Michael Taylor, Brian Davis, Glenn Potts, Garry Taylor and Baker Thurlow serving as pallbearers.

Larry is survived by his mother, June Edwards Taylor of Water Valley, MS; his daughter, Shanda June Taylor of Oxford, MS; three sons, Carl Adam Taylor of Water Valley, MS, Michael Lynn Taylor (Jamie) of Dallas, TX and Anthony Lee Taylor (Dacia Harmon) of Banner, MS; his sister, Lisa Taylor Curry (Charles) of Monticello, FL; his brother, Garry Lee Taylor (Letty) of Water Valley, MS; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Colvin Adrion Taylor.
