Obituary

Francis M. "Frank" Lima, 84, of Fairhaven died Tuesday May 13, 2014 suddenly at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He was the husband of Stasia B. (Mikolajcyk) Lima.

Born in Taunton, the son of the late Frank M. and Delia (Morgado) Lima, he lived in Fairhaven for most of his life.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.

Mr. Lima was formerly employed as a machinist at the Acushnet Company. He had also been a former part owner of Mendell Electric Company.

During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had been a volunteer at the Fort Taber - Fort Rodman Military Museum. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club and was an active participant in the Lions Club Senior dances.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and doing crossword puzzles and sudokus. An avid sports fan, he loved watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He was an extremely proud grandfather and deeply loved his faithful dog, Teddy. He always saw the good in everyone and everything.

Survivors include his wife; two children, Edward F. Lima and his wife Lori of Dartmouth, and Linda J. Clark and her husband Jonathan of Fairhaven; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Rebekah, Elizabeth, and Kaitlin Clark, Krista, Kelsey, and Adam Lima; two nieces, Cheryl DeFelice and Sandra Empson; and several cousins.

He was the brother of the late Edward J. Lima.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven. Burial with military honors will follow in Nasketucket Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
