Robert E. Donaldson, 81, a lifelong resident Hudson, died on Wednesday, May 14th at The Reservoir Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Marlboro surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wanda M. (Andziulewicz) Donaldson of Hudson.
Robert was born in Marlboro, son of the late Charles and Cora (Barrows) Donaldson. He was raised in Hudson where he attended local schools and was a 1950 graduate of Hudson High School. He was employed as an electronic technician for many years by Datamatrics-Gould of Wilmington until his retirement. He was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.
Robert was an avid Red Sox fan and in his spare time enjoyed spending time on his computer. He always looked forward to being with his family whom he loved and cherished. They will surely miss him.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Robert C. Donaldson and his wife Debra of Agawam and William J. Donaldson and his wife Lee of Andover. He is also survived by his brother, Harold Donaldson and his wife Barbara of Sterling; his six grandchildren, Douglas Donaldson, Courtney McDonald, Gregory Donaldson, Margaret Frankel, Carolyn Benoit and Andrew Donaldson; his great grandson Bryson Frankel; his special niece Karen Donaldson along with many other nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ernest Donaldson, Flora Lamontagne and Phyllis Reberio.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 19th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Sunday, May 18th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749
