Mildred Joyce “Mickey” Minshew Fowler, 80, of Ben Hill County, died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 10 A.M., Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Young’s Cemetery, Ben Hill County with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fowler was born October 7, 1933 in Ben Hill County to the late Isborn Player & Martha Jane Smith Minshew. She attended Emory School and was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and playing with her grand and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Rebecca Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter: Ginger & Dennie Reeves of Lenox; three sons: Gary & Beth Fowler, Kyle & Elaine Fowler, and Kelly Fowler, all of Ben Hill County; three granddaughters: Suzanne Williamson, Kaylyn Fowler, and Kristen Wiggins; three grandsons: Brandon Fowler, Jeremy Fowler, and Dustin Fowler; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Nellie Faye Odom of Ashburn and Betty Lou Vickers of Wray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years: Thomas Winfred Fowler; a son: Tracy Kim Fowler; and a brother: I.P. Minshew, Jr.
