Debbie Jean Cox Hand, 56, of Albany, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Joseph L. Crumley will officiate with a eulogy to be given by Rhonda Moore. A private burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Hand was born on September 28, 1957 in Tifton and was the daughter of Emma Jean Whitley Cox Sparks of Tifton and the late Jimmy A. Cox. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her mother, Ms. Hand is survived by her step-father, Alfred Sparks of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Jason Thomas and Sarah Hand of Ringgold; one daughter and son-in-law, Haley Hand and Nick Peak of Sylvester; three brothers, Jimmy Dale Cox of Norman Park, Tony Dwayne Cox of Omega and Ricky Sparks of Chattahoochee, Florida; and five grandchildren, Ashton Hand, Jayce Simmons, Clay Simmons, Jason Hand Jr., and Karma Hand.
