FORAN James F. (74) of Hyde Park, loving uncle of nephews and nieces John, Karen, Jim, Janet and Joseph and brother-in-law to Carol Foran, died on Monday, May 12.
He was born on May 30, 1930, a son of the late James Foran and Agnes (Coughlin) of Boston. He was predeceased by his beloved brother John 'Jacko' Foran and sister Agnes Foran.
Jim retired early from his job as a U.S. Postal Service clerk to care for his dying sister. A beloved uncle, he valued family first and foremost. A long-time Hyde Park resident and former caddy, he enjoyed golf, politics, investing and travel (Russia, Germany, Acapulco, Canada and U.S.) Spent winters in Florida and summers in Massachusetts attending Boston Single Executive Club dances, Eastover Resort, visiting civil war sites, and painting/repairing/gardening his beloved home. Jim was a very quiet, kind and gentle soul; he had a loving and generous heart. A good day was one walking in Kelly Field after a coffee at Dunkin' or supplying Chinese food, B&C Bakery pies or ice cream to celebrate holidays and birthdays with his family.
