Norman W. Frederick, 86, passed away on May 11, 2014 at Holyoke Medical Center. He was born on May 1, 1928 in Chicopee, a son of the late Arthur and Lena (Ritchott) Frederick. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a tool grinder for Rexnord Corporation for over 30 years before he retired in 1990. He has also worked as a bagger at Stop n Shop for 15 years. He was a former communicant and Eucharistic minister of Assumption parish. He was also a member of the Apostolate of the Suffering in Palmer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Elder Council 69 in Chicopee and was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots Fan. He is predeceased by his wife Gertrude H. (Gagnon) Frederick who passed away in 2009. He leaves his daughter Lois Fimbel and her fiancé Jorge Vasquez of New York; 3 brothers, Rene Frederick of Chicopee, Alfred Frederick of Chicopee and Kenneth Frederick of Springfield; 2 sisters Doris Ouimette of Wilbraham and Lorette Robertson of Framingham; 3 grandchildren, Sherry, Joy and David;4 great grandchildren, Kyle, Cash, Summer and Savannah. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is predeceased by his son Gary Frederick and also by his brothers Eugene, Roger and Robert “Popeye” Frederick. All services will be private at the convenience of the family in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
