Obituary


Edith “Eadie” (Alexander) Abells, 73, of Auburndale, who was retired office manager for Patriot Trail Girl Scouts and Catholic Charities, die Mon Nov 8, 2004 at her home in Auburndale.
Eadie was born in Providence RI and raised in Medford where she graduated from Medford High School. She also graduated from Chandler Secretarial School. A resident of Newton since 1957 she was a member of the Centenary Methodist Church in Auburndale until it merged with the United Parish of Auburndale. She also worked as a secretary for Attorney Arthur Puccarelli for over 10 years. Mrs. Abells was a supporter of the civil rights movement and of women’s rights, and enjoyed writing poetry.
Eadie is survived by her husband Wayne A. Abells, her daughters Nancy McNulty and her husband Paul of Danvers, Deborah Jasset and her husband Philip Jr. of Newton, and Donna Paolini of Marlborough, and 10 grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Kathryn A. Alexander.
A memorial service will be held on Sat. Nov 20 at 11 AM in the United Parish of Auburndale 64 Hancock St. Auburndale. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Thurs Nov 11 from 4-7 PM.
