Obituary

Gilmanton----Paul Andre Levesque died on May 9, 2014 surrounded by love. He was a caring, generous, loving, and much to his six grandchildren’s delight, mischievous man. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Martha (née Oliveri) Levesque. The first time he saw her, he thought, “I’m going to marry that girl.” Through unrelenting persistence, he got his way. It was the best thing to happen to both of them.

Paul is also survived by his large, spirited family, including his 5 children: Yvonne Megenis, Robert Levesque, Julie Levesque, Christopher Levesque, and Mia Levesque; their partners: Rich Megenis, Hannah Cutler, Jay Hanicak, Jackie Levesque, and Tracy Levesque; his 6 grandchildren: Erica, Sarah, Matthew, Josephine, Andre, and Remy; as well as his younger brother, Pierre Levesque.

For many years, Paul worked as an accountant for Allen Rogers in Laconia. An Army Veteran and avid community volunteer, he offered his services to Genesis Behavioral Health and St. Vincent de Paul; he served as a member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment and was elected as one of the Trustees of Trust Funds in Gilmanton. A very active communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Belmont, he served many roles in the church, including as an Eucharistic Minister and altar server.

Among his many hobbies, woodworking was his passion. Those lucky enough to have signed Paul Levesque originals (PAL) will cherish them. He was also an excellent bread baker, always baking extra loaves for friends and family. He loved gardening, folk music, working out, riding in his convertible, the beach and the sun.

Paul was proud of his French Canadian heritage. A loyal and sensitive man, he believed in the strong bond of family and community. He enjoyed food, wine and great conversation, often seated around the dinner table with family or friends. He will be forever missed by those whose lives he touched. Qu'il repose en paix.

There will be no calling hours.
