Obituary

BEVERLY: Thelma N. (Anderson) Rogers, 83, died Friday, May 9, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at her home following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Forest A. Rogers.
Born in North Billerica on May 26, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Edward O. and Amy A. Anderson. She resided in North Billerica before moving to Beverly in 1953.
In addition to her husband of sixty-three years, she is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Rogers Mears and her husband, Paul of Danvers and Joyce Rogers of Beverly; a son, Gary A. Rogers and his wife, Jill (Eilertsen) of Byfield; five grandchildren, Allison Dollery and her husband, Christopher of Beverly, Angela Fanno and her husband, Matthew of S. Hamilton, Kevin Mears and his girlfriend, Lauren Streisfeld of South Boston, Jake Rogers of Ipswich and Grant Rogers of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; two great-grandchildren, Brynn Dollery and Jacob Fanno; a sister, Shirley Flanagan and her husband, Joseph of Newburyport; a brother-in-law, Charles “Chick” Rogers of Billerica and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Karl Erbacher and two brothers, Robert and Paul Anderson.
Thelma was employed as a nursing assistant at the former Hancock House Nursing Home in Beverly for many years. She enjoyed her home, neighborhood and the city of Beverly and her summers at Kingston Lake, NH. She loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling and riding mopeds with her "gang" of friends; she was a notorious Friday night card player and a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Her funeral service will be privately held by the family. There are no visiting hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to Care Dimensions (formerly Hospice of the North Shore), 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
