Obituary

Betty Jo Feagin Rousey, 76, of Tifton died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Liberty Baptist Church. Rev. Gary Cadwell, Rev. Gerald Purvis and Rev. Steve Tucker will officiate with burial to follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Larry Brady, Milton Rousey, Ricky Dean, Mark Dean, Jimmy Roberts and Tommy Feagin will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Tift Regional Medical Center and the Women’s Adult Sunday school class at Liberty Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 12, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Rousey will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Rousey was born on July 28, 1937 in Tift County and was the daughter of Jessie Warren Feagin and Mary Renner Sturdivant Feagin, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, W. A. “Archie” Rousey; three brothers, C. L. Feagin, Junior Feagin and Lynward Feagin; and two sisters, Catherine Brady and Lois McEntyre. She retired from Tift Regional Medical Center, after 23 years of service and, in 2002, became a volunteer with the Tift Regional Medical Center Auxiliary as a Pink Lady. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rousey is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael David and Janie Rousey of Tifton and Stacey Rousey of Tifton; one sister, Kathleen Roberts of Tifton; two grandchildren, Bridgett Rousey, and Joshua Rousey and wife, Hannah Rousey; and one great-grandchild, Lena Rousey.
