Obituary

Frederick "Tony" John Bowyer Williams of Medford, formerly of Malden, died on Friday, May 9 in the Golden Living Center at Elmhurst in Melrose. Born in Hammersmith, England he was the son of the late Frederick A. and Elizabeth M. (Murphy) Williams. After serving in the English army during the Korean War, Frederick moved to the United States, first settling in Malden before moving to Medford, where he lived for the past 28 years.

He was a loyal Red Sox fan, a gardener, and a Sam Adams Boston Lager drinker. Frederick listened to country music, could put a 1000 piece puzzle together in a few hours, and enjoyed sharing Friday chicken dinners with Lola the dog.

He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen E. (Golder) Williams and the devoted father of Linda Williams of Malden, Eric Williams and his wife Robin of Medford, Keith Williams and his wife Beverly of Braintree. Frederick was the loving grandfather of Adam and Alex Matossian, Marissa "Riss" Williams, Jacob and Alison Williams, and the loving great grandfather of Hunter Matossian. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth Chase of Arizona.

A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, May 17 at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 10 - 12 noon.
