Donna Sue Reaves, 50, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, May 9, 2014, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Monday, May 12, 2014, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Donna Sue was born April 4, 1964 in Fitzgerald to Nellie Smith Reaves and the late Shellie D. Reaves. She attended the Sunny Dale Training Center in Ocilla. She was an accomplished basketball and baseball player, traveling throughout the state with Sunny Dale. She worked for Irwin Manufacturing. Donna Sue loved to sing and play her guitar and truly lived life to the fullest. She never met a stranger and always offered a hug when she greeted people. She was a member of the Fitzgerald Church of God.
She is survived by her mother: Nellie Smith Reaves of Fitzgerald; her siblings and their spouses: Barbara Ann Walker of Fitzgerald, Jeanette & Marlis Kitchens of Heflin, Alabama, Carolyn Griner of Brunswick, Mary Nell & William Graham of Georgetown, Jerry & Beverly Reaves of Rochelle, Brenda Carelock of Tifton, and Jane & Chris DeBerry of Fitzgerald. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by four brothers: J.D. Reaves, John Taylor Reaves, Jack Reaves, and Frankie Reaves.
