Obituary

Madeline H. Demeule, 60, of Londonderry, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA. She was born on November 1, 1953 in Lynn, MA. Mrs. Demeule graduated from Swampscott High School, Swampscott, MA before continuing her education at the Lowell Technological Institute where she was one of the first groups of women to attend, studying Biology at the college. She taught some courses at Bunker Hill College, Boston, MA. Madeline worked at Salem Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist and later became the Director of Public relations for the Bane Family Nursing Centers on the North Shore. Madeline was active with community outreach and advocacy for those who needed help. She worked with the Derry friendship Center and the Hope for New Hampshire Recovery organization. She was also politically active with her community. Madeline and her sister, Susan, operated Dragonfly Pearls, selling freshwater pearl jewelry from China. She enjoyed sewing, shopping and loved to travel the world.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Richard Demeule, her daughter, Kenlyn Jones and husband Matthew, her son, Gregory Demeule, as well as three sisters, Susan Spinney and her husband Norman, Sally Dion and her husband Michael, and Maureen Kitson and her husband John.
Following cremation, memorial calling hours were held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 4 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry NH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Madeline’s name by going to "themulliganproject.org" on the web, to the "donate now" page. At Madeline’s request please no black attire, only bright colorful clothes.
