Obituary

Ocala, FL – John W. Duggan Sr., 57, of Williston, FL died unexpectedly in a car accident on I-75 in Ocala, FL while he was working on Saturday, May 3rd.

John was going to celebrate his 37th wedding anniversary with his wife Bonny (Kobel) later this month. He is also survived by a son, John W. Duggan Jr. and his wife Dr. Heather Ruebel Duggan of Williston, FL; two grandchildren, Sara Marie Duggan and Lily Irene Duggan; four brothers, Joseph Duggan III of Worcester, Herb Duggan of Auburn, Richard Duggan of Worcester and Patrick Duggan of Worcester as well as many nephews and nieces.

Mr. Duggan was born in Worcester, son of the late Joseph T. Duggan Jr. and Marie I. (Delaney) Duggan and is also predeceased by a son Matthew Lee Duggan who died in 2005.

John is a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade High School and currently was the owner and operator of S.M. Duggan Towing Company in Ocala, FL. Before Mr. Duggan moved to Florida 10 years ago, he owned and operated the 3D Garden Center on Chandler Street in Worcester.

Mr. Duggan enjoyed many things during his lifetime, however, the happiest times were when he was dotting on his two grandchildren, Sara and Lily. Who were his everything.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 10th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church 555 Pleasant St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Friday, May 9th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children research Hospital PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148.
