FALL RIVER… Joseph E. Dumont, 77, of Swansea passed away April 24, 2014 at St. Anne’s Hospital.
He was the husband of 44 years to Doreen (Salisbury) Dumont.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Elie and Marianne (Bruneau) Dumont, and had lived in Swansea since 1970.
He was a 1956 graduate of the former Msgr. Prevost High School. He was a treasurer with the Leather Workers Union and a shop steward. Mr. Dumont enjoyed learning, loved politics and history, and was an usher at St. Michael’s Church for many years.
Survivors include his wife, a Son: Joseph E. Dumont of Lake Oswego, OR, a Daughter: Dr. Georgette E. Dumont of Jacksonville Beach, FL, a Brother: Wilfrid Dumont of Fall River, a Sister: Marie Claire Fusco of Spring Hill, FL, 2 Grandchildren: Olivia Rose Dumont & Jack Dumont, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass to which relatives and friends are invited to will be held Saturday at 9:00AM at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, I530 Gardner’s Neck Road, Swansea. Burial will be private.
