Obituary


MEREDITH – Glenn Alan Groleau, 50, of 2 Waukewan Ave, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center in Massachusetts.

He was born on June 27, 1963 in Laconia, the son of Reginald and Beverly (Wheeler) Groleau. Glenn was a graduate of Laconia High school and proudly served in the US Army, volunteering to serve with his brother, Scott, in Operation Desert Storm, earning a Kuwait Liberation Medal and an Army Commendation Medal. He was known as a jack of all trades, most recently for George Stevens Company. Glenn was known as a person who would go out of his way to help others, especially those in need. He was the current Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Laconia Post #1670 and a Past Commander of the American Legion Wilkins Smith Post No1, Laconia. He also coached little league for many years in Laconia. Glenn loved hunting, fishing, hiking and especially spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda Groleau of Meredith, one son, Josh A. Groleau of Manchester, four brothers; Scott Groleau of Laconia, Greg Groleau of Scarborough, Maine, Thomas Groleau of Laconia and Timothy Groleau of Palmetto Bay, Florida; a sister, Donna Threlfall of Belmont, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Glenn was predeceased by a brother, Reginald Groleau, Jr. in 2006.

There will be no calling hours.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 12 Noon to 4PM at the VFW Post 1670, 143 Court Street, Laconia.

A Graveside Service, with Military Honors, will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 10:00AM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, N.H.
