Obituary

LEICESTER: Edward M. Thebodo, Jr. 87, of Leicester died Monday, May 5 in Rose Monahan Hospice Home after an illness.

He was the husband of R.Lenore “Nonie” (Young) Thebodo who died in 2012. He leaves a son Robert E. Thebodo and his wife Honora of Lyme, NH, a daughter Lisbeth A. Bumpus and her husband Peter of Rindge, NH., a sister Beverly Carigan of Millbury, five grandchildren; Briant and Darcey Cormier, John, Robert and Matthew Thebodo, 7 great-grandchildren; Braydon Charles, Andrew, and Nathaniel Thebodo, Edward and Jackson Cormier, and Brooklyn and Bradon Coyle, several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by a brother, Richard Thebodo.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of Edward M. and Edna (Bird) Thebodo, Sr.

Mr. Thebodo worked as a Millwright at Vellumoid Corp. in Greendale for 45 years before retiring in 1992.

He attended Worcester Boys Trade and then served his country in the Navy during WW II and was a plank owner of the USS Brinkley Bass. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 5428 in Leicester and the Cherry Valley American Legion Post #443. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was named Volunteer of the Year in Leicester in 2007.

He was a member of St. Pius X Church in Leicester. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking and most importantly he loved his wife and family.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 14 at 11 AM in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St. Leicester. Burial with military honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. A calling period will precede the Service from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.
