Patricia A. (McLaughlin) Kirk, a 24 year resident of York Beach, Maine and former 10 year resident of Winchester and longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose following an extended illness. She was 74 years old.
Patricia was born in Boston on December 1, 1939, a daughter of the late James McLaughlin and Anna (Campbell) McLaughlin. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. Patricia worked for over 12 years as an Administrator for the Department of Revenue for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She enjoyed traveling to Sanibel Island, Florida in the winter with her late husband Bill and also enjoyed the beach at York, Maine and loved to shop and decorate whenever and wherever she had the opportunity.
Patricia is the beloved wife of 55 years of the late William N. Kirk. She is the mother of William Kirk and his wife Paula and their children James and Caroline of Winchester, her devoted daughter Holly Thompson and her husband Bruce and their son Grant of South Hamilton and Laurie Collins and her children Molly, Patrick and Christian of Winchester. She is the cherished sister-in-law of Patricia Reynolds and her husband Paul of Melrose, Kathleen Kirk of Revere and Michael Kirk of Melrose. She is the beloved sister of the late James McLaughlin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Patricia's Funeral Mass celebrated on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10 A.M. in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield. Burial will be private. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
